Howard Mason Knight, 89, of Bradenton, Fla., passed away Monday, May 29, 2017. Born in Marblehead, Mass., to Harris S. and Edna P. Knight, Howard graduated from Marblehead High School, Class of 1946, and Bentley University. He was employed as owner of Harris S. Knight Accounting Co., in Salem, Mass., until his retirement in 1984 when he sold the business. Howard is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn; son, David (Amy) Knight of Danvers, Mass.; daughter, Candy (Everett) Peabody of Norwalk, Conn.; granddaughter, Danielle Knight; and grandsons, Andrew Knight, Bryan Peabody, and Kevin Peabody. Howard and Carolyn traveled extensively with their Airstream motorhome throughout the country, Canada, Mexico, and overseas, and he was an officer and caravan leader for over 40 years with the Wally Byam Caravan Club and Airstream Company. He was a life member of the WBCCI, Freightliner Club, FMCA, Good Sam and Escape Club, New England Unit and Charter Oak Unit all RV clubs. Howard was a devoted Mason and was a life member of the Philanthropic Lodge (Marblehead), Aleppo Temple (Boston), Scottish Rite, York Rite. Howard was a Korean War Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army and was a life member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a member of the Elks. Howard was a very happy resident of Westminster Shores.
A memorial service will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Fla., on Friday, June 16, 2017. Arrangements made by Kays-Ponger Uselton Funeral Home of Venice, Fla.
