Harry Anthony "Chick"'s Story

Harry Anthony “Chick” Torelli, age 87, of Peabody, formerly of Lynn, died peacefully with his loving family at his side on Wednesday February 8, 2017, at Sunrise at Gardner Park, Peabody. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Dupuis) Torelli.
Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Dominick and Elizabeth (Cipolletti) Torelli. He was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1948 and had lived in Lynn for his entire life before moving to Peabody.
A Korean War Veteran, he had served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army.
Harry worked for over 40 years as an engine tester at the GE Riverworks Plant.
He was a Devout Christian and active Parishioner of St. Mary’s Parish in Lynn. He served the Parish as a longtime volunteer at the food pantry, as a Senior Acolyte, as a Minister to the sick at Salem Hospital, and as a member of the Medjugorje Prayer Group. Harry was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order, and he had a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother as witnessed by his two trips to Medjugorje. Harry enjoyed spending time with his lifelong friends at the Italian American club and at Honey Dew.
He is survived by his children, Bruce Torelli of Tennessee, Dina Russo of Swampscott, Gary Carpenter, Sabrina Carpenter of Salem, Lisa Marino of Salem, and Robin Carpenter of Gloucester; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Ann Carpenter of Peabody; his former wife, Marlene Barnes, of Winthrop; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Steven Carpenter, and the brother of the late Frances Fioccoprile, Marie Caefer, and Louis “Dodo” Torelli.
His Funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the Solimine Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church Swampscott. Burial will be private at a later date. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
