Gregory William's Story
Mr. Gregory William Benjamin, 49, of Danvers, died Tuesday, July 4th, 2017 at his home.
Born in Methuen he was the son of Rodger R. and Joan Ellen (Bartley) Benjamin. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School. He continued his education at Wentworth Institute where he earned his degree in Welding.
Mr. Benjamin had been employed as a welder in the construction field for many years.
Greg had a deep passion for the out of doors. He enjoyed spending his time camping and fishing taking in mother nature’s beauty. He was an animal lover and had many animal companions over the years. He was a loving son, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed.
Gregory is survived by his parents, Rodger R. and Joan Ellen (Bartley) Benjamin of Danvers, his sisters, Lizabeth K. Auth of Amherst, N.H. and Marguerite Hopey and her husband Richard of Mont Vernon, N.H., his niece Laurel K. Auth, his nephews, Brendan C. Auth, Jack M. Hopey and Ethan R. Hopey and many family members in the Benjamin and Bartley family.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass which will be held in St. Richard Church, Forest St., Danvers, Saturday, July 8th at 10 a.m. Burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, North Andover. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Route 62), Danvers. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Gregory’s memory to the Pine Street Inn, 444 Harrison Ave., Boston, MA 02118, or to the Northeast Animal Shelter 347 Highland Ave., Salem.
