Grace "Bunty" (Marks)'s Story
Grace “Bunty” Marks Hursty, 97, passed away on June 1, 2017, at the Kaplan House in Danvers. Grace was the daughter of the late Frederick and Grace (Miller) Marks. Bunty was the last survivor of the Hamilton High School class of 1937. She was predeceased by Ralph, her husband of 58 years. She was a lifelong resident of Hamilton where she raised four sons who were the loves of her life. She is survived by David and his wife, Cyndy of Bridgton, Maine; Mark and his wife, Linda of Snyder, New York; Ralph Jr. and his wife, Cindy of Rocky Hill, Conn.; and Paul and his wife, Cathy of Hamilton.
Grace enjoyed many summers in Naples, Maine, with her sisters and their families, generating a continuing love of the Lake Region. She worked for the Hamilton-Wenham School District for over 10 years. A prolific knitter, Grace spent years creating hats for newborns for Project Linus.
In addition to her sons, Bunty is survived by her sister Dora Spiridigliozzi of Hamilton, nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers Robert and Paul Marks, and two sisters, Barbara Buonanduci and Virginia Maidment.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of St. Paul, 50 Union Street, Hamilton, Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. with burial in the Hamilton Cemetery.
