George H.'s Story
Mr. George Hulin Robinson, Jr., 89, of Peabody, died on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Salem Hospital. He was the husband for 57 years to the late Carmina (DiGregorio) Robinson, who died on May 4, 2017.
Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late George and Mabel (Holbrook) Robinson. He attended Lynn schools and was a graduate of Lynn English High School.
George was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953.
For 50 years, George had worked as a machinist at the GE Riverworks Plant. George was a member of the Vittori Rocci Post, Beverly, and of the Knights of Columbus as a third degree member at Leo Council 508, Peabody, and also of the fourth degree. He was a former member of the Italian Community Center in Lynn and a former Little League manager. He enjoyed the time that he spent with his family.
He is survived by three sons, Mark Robinson of Peabody, Steven and Karen Robinson of Northwood, N.H., and Paul and Angela Robinson of Amesbury; several grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Marlene McGinnis of Lynn; a brother, Donald Robinson of Arlington; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Vincent, Clarence, and Ken Robinson.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from the solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129, Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
