Gardner Francis's Story
Mr. Gardner Francis McGregor, 87, longtime resident of Boxford, passed away on Monday, April 10 at Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield.
Born June 13, 1929 in Topsfield, he was the son of the late James Frank and Anne (McGoff) McGregor. Gardner was raised in Topsfield and graduated from Topsfield High School in 1947. Gardner was a United States Army veteran. He had an extensive career as a licensed electrician and was a longstanding member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers since 1953.
Gardner was the husband of Louise (Eldridge) McGregor for more than 60 wonderful years. They were avid sports fans and especially enjoyed auto racing. Gardner and Louise enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their camper.
Gardner was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Gardner is survived by his loving wife, Louise (Eldridge) McGregor; his children, Deborah Wan and her husband, Samuel, Nancy Eldred and her husband, Brad and Valerie Foster and her husband, Kevin; his stepson, Roger Friend and his companion, Gail Boutilier; and nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service which will be held graveside in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Haverhill Rd., Topsfield, Wednesday, April 12 at 11 a.m. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (Route 62), Danvers.
