Emma A. (Beatrice)'s Story
Mrs. Emma A. (Beatrice) Rossi, 93, of Peabody, died on Monday, June 19, 2017, at home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Louis R. “Gege” Rossi.
She was born in Lynn, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Maria E. (Rossetti) Beatrice.
She was raised in Lynn and lived in Lynn until 1989, when she moved to Peabody.
Mrs. Rossi was a member of the Carmel Club of Peabody and the Tannery II Association. She also enjoyed her weekly ballroom dancing. Mrs. Rossi was a member of the Italian American Club in Lynn and was a member of the Woman’s Bocce Ball League. Mrs. Rossi loved to sing and entertain. Most of all she loved her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Hargraves and her husband, Richard of Boxford, Joanne Diamond and her husband, Richard of West Newbury; a son, Thomas L. Rossi and his wife, Mary Ann of Colorado; her grandchildren, Lauren Gordon, Chris Hargraves, Tom and Michael Rossi; her great-grandchildren, Sam and Leah Gordon, Ryan and Danielle Hargraves. She also leaves two sisters, Anna Goodwin, Carole Messina; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Pasquale, John and Anthony Beatrice and the late Mary Rose Murray. She was close friend and companion of the late George LaMonica.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn at 12 p.m. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to her funeral.
