Elliott Howard Sinclair, 92, of Salem, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Florida (Trembly) Sinclair with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in 1924, Mr. Sinclair was the son of Charles and Pearl (Williams) Sinclair. Mr. Sinclair was born and raised in Salem and was a 1940 graduate of Salem Vocational High School. In 1943, Mr. Sinclair enlisted in the U.S. Army where he remained until 1953. Along with the many awards Mr. Sinclair won for his years of service, Mr. Sinclair was awarded the Purple Heart after sustaining severe frost bite on both feet. At the time of Mr. Sinclair’s Honorable Discharge he was classified as a Medic – Sargent.
Mr. Sinclair retired from Parker Brothers after 38 years of employment in the Parcial Post of Parker Brothers of Salem.
Mr. Sinclair leaves his sons, David Sinclair of Salem, Richard Sinclair and his wife, Debbie of Salem, James Sinclair of Peabody and daughter, Mary Anne (Sinclair) Cloutier of Seabrook, N.H. Mr. Sinclair was also the grandfather to Branden, Todd, Nicholas and Shawna Sinclair, Michelle, Jonathan and Ashley Cloutier, as well as five great grandchildren.
Mr. Sinclair is survived by his sister, Thelma Ouellette and was predeceased by his siblings, Charlie, Harold and Doris Sinclair.
Visiting hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 18th at Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street, (Corner of North St.), Salem; a memorial service will take place at the end of visiting hours at 4 p.m, also at The Murphy Funeral Home.
