Ella S.'s Story
Ella S. (Morgan) Young, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 7, 2017 at home surrounded by her four loving daughters.
Ella was born in Beverly on July 10, 1932. Ella’s legacy was in Beverly, Essex and Ipswich. She graduated from Beverly High School, Class of 1951 and earned an Associate’s degree in 1969. Ella became a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. He career included the Hathorne Regional Center in Danvers, Salem Mental Health Center and held a position of Director at the Horizon House in Wakefield, an adult rehabilitation program for individuals with developmental disabilities. She retired in 1995.
Ella leaves her four daughters, Stephanie L. Young and fiancé Hugh Brower of Beverly, Roberta A. DiAngelo and her husband, Joseph “Joe” of Beverly, Anna-Greta Young of Beverly and Victoria Chouinard and her husband, Mike of Dracut; her grandchildren, Julie Lemanski and her husband, Preston of Swampscott, Michael Bondi and his wife, Julie of Shrewsbury, Jeffrey Bondi and fiancé, Megan of Whitensville; great-grandchildren, Madison and Preston Lemanski Jr.
Ella was active in family genealogy, was a naturally talented photographer, enjoyed hiking, the outdoors, scenic rides, fishing and writing poetry. Her lust of nature took her on many adventures throughout New England and Nova Scotia. A reflection of Ella is seen in the scenic photographs she had taken throughout her lifetime.
Ella volunteered at the Ipswich Historical Society and the Senior Center on Caroline Ave in Ipswich. She had resided for 33 years in Ipswich before returning to Beverly in 2014, less than ½ mile from the family homestead on Essex Street where she was born.
She was the daughter of the late John Everett Morgan and Doris Sears Sangster and sister of the late Arthur Morgan, Betty Goodwin and Doris Burns.
Ella’s daughters would like to give special thanks to Josie and Maria of Care Dimensions for the gentle care and support given to Ella.
Her funeral service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in the Central Cemetery, Beverly. Contributions may be made in her memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
