Elizabeth A. "Betty"'s Story
Elizabeth A. “Betty” Daley, age 63 years, of Gloucester, formerly of Beverly, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, May 31, 2017 at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester. She was the longtime companion of Jeff Maloney of Gloucester.
Born in Salem, daughter of the late Richard and Helen (Hannon) Daley. Betty was raised in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School with the class of 1972. She furthered her education by graduating from the Colby-Sawyer College in New London, N.H.
Betty raised her family in Danvers, and while there had been a prominent real estate agent locally for 10 years.
A resident of Gloucester for many years, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Voyage Church. She was also an avid surf fisher and enjoyed spending her days gardening at home. Betty loved to travel, was a true animal lover and especially enjoyed her dogs, Luke and Asha.
In addition to her longtime companion, she is survived by her daughter, Carrie (Champigny) Cabezas and her husband Michael; her son, Drew Champigny; her grandson, Wesley Cabezas; and her siblings, Nancy L. Daley, Richard Daley, Jr. and Philip Daley.
Betty’s Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 144 Prospect Street, Gloucester on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 1 to 4 p.m. Interment will be private. Contributions in Betty’s memory may be made to the Action Shelter, c/o Action Inc., 180 Main Street, Gloucester, MA 01930 please specify in memo line that the donation is for the Homeless Shelter.
