Dennis "Denny"'s Story
Dennis A. “Denny” Amiro, 64, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by his loving wife and adoring daughter.
Born in Bryn Mawr, Pa. on August 19, 1952, he was the son of Theresa R. (LeBlanc) Amiro and the late Isaac "Ike" Amiro who died in 2001.
As a young boy his family moved to Swampscott, where he lived most of his younger years. He was a graduate of Swampscott High School, Class of 1971, and had attended the University of Lowell and Northeast Institute of Industrial Technology.
Denny was a longtime employee of CPI (Communication and Power Industries) in Beverly, where he worked for 44 years. He was very active in the Marblehead Sea Scouts where he excelled in rowing. It was through sea scouting that he met his beloved wife of 44 years, Barbie Tudal Amiro. They were married on October 14, 1972, and started their life together as residents of Beverly. They have one daughter, Kate Amiro who deeply adored and looked up to her father.
He was very active in the Beverly Emergency Management Association (BEMA) which allowed him to do what he loved more than anything, helping people. Denny loved fishing and loved spending as much time as he could with his wife and daughter. His family was his life.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Amiro; daughter, Kate Amiro and her boyfriend, Travis Davies, who he considered like a son; his mother, Theresa R. (LeBlanc) Amiro; and his best friends, Lyn Pilanen-Kudlik and Larry Kudlik.
His visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, in the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Services will be private.
