Deborah Jean (Marchant)'s Story
Deborah J. (Marchant) Mahan, 66, of Beverly, beloved wife of the late Charles G. Mahan, passed away March 26, 2017, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born in Boston, she was the dear daughter of the late Wilbur and Jean (Clark) Marchant. She was a graduate of Hamilton-Wenham High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Salem State College.
Mrs. Mahan was employed as a consultant for the May Kay Cosmetics Company and as a teacher for Miss Alexander’s Nursery School in Beverly for 23 years. She was also employed at Kohl’s Department Store in Danvers for 10 years. Her most cherished role was as a mother, sister, grammy and friend.
Surviving her are three sons, Brian Mahan and his wife, Boglarka of Beverly, Timothy Mahan and his wife, Kathleen of Newburyport, Marc Mahan and his wife, Katie of Gloucester; a daughter, Amy Millen and her husband, Scott of Beverly; two brothers, Rick Marchant of Cumberland, R.I., Dana Marchant of Hopkinton, Mass.; a sister, Patricia Culver of Portsmouth, R.I.; five grandchildren, Joshua Millen, Andrew, Gregory, Harper, and Liv Mahan.
Deborah’s funeral service will be held at Christ Church, 149 Asbury St., South Hamilton on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment at Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at Northshore Bank, and donations can be made payable to Mrs. Alexander’s School and mailed to North Shore Bank, Deborah Mahan Fund, 248 Andover Street, Peabody, MA 01960.
