Christopher B.'s Story
Christopher Bradley Fernald, 58, of Marblehead, passed away on April 12, 2017. Born in Springfield, Chris grew up in East Longmeadow living most of his life in West Hartford, Conn. with his late wife Ilene Hirsch Fernald of Simsbury, Conn. and his three beloved daughters.
He is survived by his daughter, Katie Kane and her husband, Michael; daughter, Kellie Fernald and her Fiancé Thomas Hickey; daughter, Kimberly Merrill and her husband, Scott, his four grandchildren Allie and Hannah Merrill, and Connor and Jack Kane; brother, Kent Fernald and his wife, Diane, brother, Mark Fernald and his wife, Sarah, and mother-in-law Linda Hirsch. Chris was predeceased by his wife, Ilene Fernald, father, Kent Fernald and mother, Barbara.
Chris was a kind and generous man who was loved by all who met him. A computer programmer who loved all the newest technology, he also loved his CrossFit community, being outside, and spending time with family at the beach. He had an immense love for his daughters and late wife Ilene, caring for her in her illness with incredible compassion and selflessness. He was well known for his sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
Chris’ Funeral Service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Memorial Visiting hours on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be held privately. Contributions in Chris’ memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
