Chester "Chet" E.'s Story
Chester “Chet” E. Sparks of Peabody entered into rest on January 30, 2017, at the age of 74. He was a retired Salem Letter Carrier and served in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam war. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Pierce) Sparks; devoted father of Tammi-Sue and Dave Breton of Waltham, Dawn and Jason Morey of Danvers, Maxine and Scott Margolin of Connecticut, Dennis and Heather LaVoie of Peabody, David Sparks of Rhode Island and Danielle and Richard Smith of Andover; loving brother of Matthew Sparks of New York, Riva-Jill Sparks of Florida and Jack Sparks of Florida; cherished grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of four; and dear friend of Peggy Cottongim of Florida.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St., Salem, MA. Interment will be held at Temple Beth Shalom Cemetery, Danvers, MA. A memorial observance will be held at the Smith residence in Andover on Thursday, Febuary 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday, February 3, from 3 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Kaplan Family Hospice House, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or via give.caredimensions.org.
