Charles W.'s Story
Charles W. Holmes, 56, passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at his home.
Charlie was born on the USAF base in Sculthorpe, Norfolk England on November 2, 1960, son of the late Kathleen “Sally” (McLain) and Clarence “Bruno” Holmes. He grew up in Beverly, and was a 1978 graduate of Beverly High School.
Charlie spent many happy years in Florida as a gifted tile setter and handyman before returning to live in Peabody.
An avid sportsman, Charlie found lifelong enjoyment in the great outdoors hunting and fishing. His other great love was music and he taught himself a number of instruments, most favored being his guitars.
He is survived by his sister Susan Weiss and nephew Ian Robinson, both of Canaan, N.H., an aunt, Ann Farrell of Peabody and uncles Charles Holmes of North Carolina and Neil McLain of Oregon, as well as numerous cousins and countless loving friends.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for November 11, 2017 at the Franco-American Club, 44 Park Street, Beverly, from 6 to 12 Midnight for his friends and loved ones to share our memories and music.
