Charles W.'s Story
Charles W. Eastman, Jr., 73, passed away unexpectedly in Tufts Medical Center on February 12, 2017.
He was born in Lynn on August 30, 1943, the son of the late Charles and Ruth (Noftle) Eastman. He was raised and educated in Saugus. He attended North Adams State College and received a Bachelor’s degree in Science. Charles served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Marine Corps., and was honorably discharged. He had been employed as a computer specialist and research technologist with the Utah State University, College of Engineering, Stewart Laboratory in Bedford for many years. Charles also taught math, physics, electronics and chemistry at Saint Peter’s School in Gloucester and Matignon High School in Cambridge. Charles was a lifelong learner and was always taking a course or reading up on something new.
He is survived by his brother, Dana Eastman and his wife, Sandra of Groveland; his sister-in-law, Diane Eastman of Danvers; two nieces, Lisa Conroy and Stephanie Ouellette; and his nephew, Lonn Eastman; and three great-nieces and one great-nephew. He was predeceased by his brother, David and nephew, Eric. He will be missed by his longtime friends and caring neighbors.
His funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Sylvan St., Danvers. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles’ name may be made to the American Heart Assoc., P.O.
