Carol Ann's Story
Carol Ann (Hayes) DiVito, 79, passed away on March 14, 2017, in Masconomet Healthcare in Topsfield. She was the loving wife of the late Paul J. DiVito, with whom she shared 37 years of marriage.
Born in Winthrop on October 13, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret “Eva” (Sheehan) Hayes. She was raised and educated in Winthrop. She and her husband moved to Danvers, where they raised their family. Carol was a parishioner of Saint Richard Church. She loved animals, especially dogs and was a member of the Humane Society. Carol enjoyed music, crafts, reading and knitting. She also enjoyed her family time on Sunset Lake in Alton, N.H.
Carol’s home was loving and welcome to all. Everyone enjoyed her fun loving nature. She had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor.
She is survived by her children, Paul DiVito of Lynn, Michael DiVito and his wife, Heather of Plaistow, N.H., and Karen DiVito of Danvers; her siblings, Henry Hayes and his wife, Nonny of Winthrop, Edward Hayes of Beverly and Lorraine Priddle and her husband, David of Winthrop; two granddaughters, Ashley and Amy DiVito; her grand-dog, Shira; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Eileen “Bunny” Coyle.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017, in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
