C. Virginia's Story
C. Virginia (Currier) Aylward passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Evergreen Health Care Center in Stafford Springs, Conn.
Born in Washington, D.C., on May 18, 1933, she was raised by her great aunt Jane (Jennie) Follansbee. They moved to West Peabody, Mass., when Virginia was 12. She graduated with the Peabody High School, Class of 1951. She was married to the late Kenneth H. Aylward of Peabody. She leaves three children, Edward B. (wife Susan) of St. Paul, Minn., Kathleen J. (husband Clifford Silva) of Enfield, Conn., and Brian K. (wife Patricia) of Orono, Maine. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Christopher Silva of Enfield, Conn., Kimberly (husband James Toohey) of Moodus, Conn., Joshua Silva (wife Jessica) of Temple, Texas, Michele Kinner of Visalia, Calif., and Michael Aylward of St. Paul, Minn. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Marissa and Caiden Silva of South Windsor, Conn., Sarah and Emma Silva of Temple, Texas, and Dominic Aylward and Remy Gomez of Visalia, Calif. Virginia also leaves two sisters, Jane Goodwin and Alberta Ezell, both of Florida; and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
It was Virginia’s desire to leave her body to Tufts University School of Medicine.
Ginny loved all animals, especially cats. She leaves her cat, “Yoda Kitty.” Memorial contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A. rescue league.
