Barbara F.'s Story

Barbara was born and lived in Maine through her high school years. She graduated from Edward Little High school in Auburn, Maine.
Barbara was married to her surviving husband, Ronald Harwood in April 1959. Following their marriage, they moved to MA where she worked for several years at the Beverly School for the Deaf as a cook.
Following the birth of her fourth child, she assumed the role of a homemaker. Barb was very active in Boy Scouts in the North shore area, leading the den levels and advancing to the Masconomet Council leadership where she earned the Order of The Arrow and organized several council-wide activities; including the Pinewood Derbies and Gold Rush days.
Barbara enjoyed camping in her motor home and made several cross country trips including an RV trip to Alaska. Also, she loved her Dachshunds and horses.
She is survived by her husband Ronald Harwood, Four children Ronald Jr, Jay, Scott and Jill Gibson. She has seven grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are kindly welcome to visitation on Wednesday, March, 15th in the Mackey Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St., Rt. 114, Middleton, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s name to National Kidney Foundation or American Diabetes Foundation.
