Audrey L.'s Story
Audrey L. (Fessenden) Kish, 91, of Bear Puddin Lane, died February 11, 2017, in the Memorial Hospital in North Conway following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Andrew H. Kish, who died in 2004.
Born in Boston on March 5, 1925, daughter of the late Walter D. and Eliza (Sheppard) Fessenden, she was raised in Ipswich and was a 1944 graduate of Ipswich High School.
She married May 25, 1947, in Ipswich, where she made her home briefly, soon moving to Hamilton, where she raised her family and lived for 54 years.
Audrey worked for several years at the Beverly National Bank in Beverly. In retirement she opened her own in-home rug hooking business where she taught rug hooking as recently as five years ago. She loved hooking rugs and knitting for friends and family.
She was a longtime member of the Art Guild and the Christ Church in Hamilton.
Audrey is survived by her two daughters, Kathie Markos and her husband, Peter of North Conway, N.H., Karen Brown and her husband, Robert Brown of Cape Coral, Fla.; three granddaughters, Kelley Ericson of Portsmouth, N.H., Johanna Markos and her fiancé, Jon Bradley of Revere, Krystina McFarland and her husband, Tim McFarland of Hamilton; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Phillip and Richard Fessenden, Sr., both of Ipswich.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 24, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Christ Church of Hamilton and Wenham, 149 Asbury St., Hamilton. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Interment in the Hamilton Cemetery was private. Arrangements were under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 9 Erie Dr., Suite 101, Natick, MA 01760.
