Anna (Balestrieri)'s Story
Mrs. Anna (Balestrieri) DiIorio, 91, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Antonio DiIorio, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Brightview in Danvers.
Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Raffaele and Bridget (DiIorio) Balestrieri. She was raised and educated in Italy and immigrated to the United States, settling in Salem where she has since resided.
A loving wife, mother and nona, Anna was a longtime dedicated communicant of the former St. Mary’s Italian Church in Salem. She was a devoted wife of over 60 years to her dear husband and took great pride in making a warm and caring home for her family.
Anna is survived by her son, Ben DiIorio of Salem; her granddaughters, Ninette and Deena DiIorio of Beverly; and several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Her funeral will be held from the O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common), Salem, Friday, Feb. 17, at 10:30 a.m., followed by her funeral Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin St., Peabody/Salem line, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
