Ann M. (Silke)'s Story
Mrs. Ann M. (Silke) Fournier, 78, of Danvers, beloved wife of the late Robert R. Fournier, died Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading following a brief illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Mary M. (Fallon) Silke and Patrick J. Silke. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1956.
Mrs. Fournier had been employed with the City of Salem, the City of Everett and most recently the City of Beverly as the Retirement Department Director until the time of her retirement in 2006.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Ann was a 35-year resident of the Town of Danvers. She enjoyed spending her time with her family and had a deep passion for animals, especially her beloved canine companions, Bailey and Kory. She especially relished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and friends and will be deeply missed.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Beth A. Fournier of Danvers; her son, Mark Fournier and his wife, Christa of Nahant; her granddaughter, Felicia DeFeo of Nahant; her nieces and nephews, Stephen and May Zbikowski of California, Shawn Silke of Peabody, Julie Gallahue of Plymouth and Shannon McEachern of New Hampshire; and many great nieces and nephews. She was the dear friend of Pat Trueira with whom she shared more than 35 years of friendship. She was the sister of the late John, James, and Margaret Silke and Dorothy Zbikowski.
Her funeral service will be held graveside in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, 30 Sylvan St., Danvers, Thursday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
