Andrea Claire's Story
Andrea Claire Szczechowicz Alaimo of Chardon, Ohio passed away April 24, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Sam; loving mother and step-mother; cherished grandmother of 11; and great-grandmother of five.
She was the sister of Laura Szczechowicz; and is survived by her brother and his wife, Joseph and Karen Szczechowicz; nephews and nieces, David Szczechowicz, Darren and Elizabeth Szczechowicz, Sarah and Peter Goldie, Kevin and Patricia Szczechowicz, Andrea and Stephen Connelly; and eight grand-nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, Waclaw Szczechowicz and Eulalia Puleo; and a brother, Gerald Szczechowicz. She also leaves aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Andrea was born in Salem, Mass. She graduated from Fordham University and Case Western University. She was employed in hospitals, Geauga Hospital, Chardon, Ohio and other medical facilities.
She touched people’s lives with her extensive knowledge of physical therapy and the health sciences. She was passionate and driven to help people create a healthy lifestyle, especially with the Shaklee philosophy.
As a patient of LAM, Andrea was a pioneer in the recognition of the disease and in the development of LAM treatments. She was an inspiration for others to continue persevering through the challenges of LAM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to www.thelamfoundation.org.
She will be missed.
A celebration of Andrea’s life will be held Saturday, June 24, 10 a.m., at St. Mary Church, 401 North St., Chardon, OH 44024. Inurnment All Souls Cemetery.
