Zbigniew "Ziggy"'s Story
Mr. Zbigniew “Ziggy” Stawski, 63, of Nahant, formerly of Salem, died early Friday morning after a long illness, with his loving wife at his side. He was the husband of Ewa (Cyron) Stawska, with whom he shared nearly eight years of marriage.
Born and raised in Warszawa, Poland, he was the son of the late Szczepan and Maria (Matczak) Stawski. After coming to the United States, he had lived in Salem for several years before moving to Nahant recently.
Ziggy received his Master’s Degree from the University of Warsaw, and had worked as a reporter for Polish radio. He was the owner of Ziggy’s Cleaning Service in Salem for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved the ocean, especially on Cape Cod.
Ziggy will be greatly missed by his wife, Ewa; his daughter, Marta Stawska; his sister, Mirka Kaliniec; as well as his many friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Solimine Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. At his wife’s request, please do not extend condolences at the time of services.
