TOPSFIELD - Mr. William Thomas Coggin 94, of Topsfield, beloved husband of Josephine Elvera (DesLoges) Coggin, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Hunt Nursing and Retirement Home in Danvers.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late John C. and Esther S. (Stolpe) Coggins. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1942.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps serving in the South Pacific as a Platoon Sergeant. He was very proud of his service to his country.
A longtime resident of the Town of Topsfield, William enjoyed spending his time out of doors, hunting and was a long-time member of the Danvers Fish and Game Club.
William is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Elvera (DesLoges) Coggin of Topsfield, his daughter-in-law, Joan Coggin of Manchester, N.H., his granddaughter Amanda Coggin and her husband, Lon Grohs of CA, his great-granddaughter, Ruby Grohs and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Philip Coggin and brother of the late Ruth A. Wood, Norma Adams, Ingrid Chruniak, John, Robert and Ray Coggin.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral services are private. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers.
