Beverly - William A. Creesy, 85, peacefully passed away on August 21, 2019 surrounded by his family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House.
Born in Beverly to the late Georgia (Hammond) and Augustus Creesy, he lived his entire life in Beverly. After graduating from Beverly High School, he married his childhood sweetheart, Joyce, who sadly predeceased him by two years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for six years attaining the rank of Sergeant. He then worked as a quality control engineer for General Electric for 46 years. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He enjoyed golfing, softball, bowling, participating in the Beverly Farms 4th of July Committee and volunteering at Beverly Hospital. He was a proud member of both St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Beverly and the American Legion, Michael J. Cardigan, Post 46. He loved his dogs, spending time at his cabin in Maine, woodworking, and especially tending to his flower gardens.
He is survived by his four children, son, William Creesy and fiancé Mary Lyness of Swampscott, daughter, Brenda Soares and husband David of Atkinson, N.H., daughter, Barbara Alexander and husband, Jim of Rowley, and daughter Wendy Gannon and husband Kevin of Beverly, with whom he lived with for the past 16 years. He will be greatly missed by his 7 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother Robert Creesy and his wife, Mary of Norwood.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to long time caregivers Anne, Missy, Butch and Janice from the Visiting Angels organization and Kaplan Family Hospice House for their compassionate care provided over the years.
Arrangements are by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly. His funeral service will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 4 Ocean St. Beverly, on Tuesday, August 27th at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Beverly Farms Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Church or Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923. Information, condolences, directions at www.campbellfuneral.com.

Worked with Bill at GE. I always referred to him as the Doctor because he was always teaching. He was a mentor to many. In later years when I would encounter a problem, I would fall back & ask myself, what would Bill do? He made me better. He will be missed. Very sorry for your loss.

Many fond memories spending time at their home during my college years. Sorry to learn they have both passed. Rest in peace.
