Beverly - Vincent (Vinnie) Congley, 82, husband of the late Lena Rossi Congley and the late Barbara Z. (St. Hilaire-Amos) Congley, died Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at the Beverly Hospital.
Born and raised in Beverly, he was the son of the late William G. and Margaret A. (Risoldi) Congley. He is survived by four daughters, Margaret J. Congley of Amesbury, Sheryl Crowell of Stafford, Va., Denise E. Duval of Hudson, N.H., and Renee B. Little of Beverly, Mass.; six grandchildren, Amanda, James, Rachel, Brad, Marc and Bethany; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Poaletta of Haverhill; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sons, John V. Congley, Grady Amos, Randolph "Randy" Amos; and brothers, Gregory Congley and Nazzaaro "Roger" Congley.
Vinnie was a graduate of Beverly High School and was an honorably discharged veteran of the Army National Guard. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a mechanic for Beverly Oldsmobile and the City of Beverly; afterwards he worked for the Beverly National Bank as a courier. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed working around the yard with his sidekick, Ricky, bird watching, trips to Foxwoods, the Red Sox, Patriots and scratch tickets.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA, from 1 to 4 p.m. A funeral Mass to be celebrated on Monday, December 11, 2017, at the St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA, at 10:30 a.m. Private burial services will be held at a later date.
