HAMILTON - Mr. Thomas Hever, 71, of South Hamilton beloved companion of Linda Camire, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Thomas and Rose (Coffey) Hever. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School. He excelled in athletics in high School and was a member of the varsity baseball and basketball teams.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a member of the 101st Airborne Division.
Mr. Hever had been employed as a Supervisor of the Maintenance Department of the Ipswich Public School Department until the time of his retirement.
Coach Hever had a great passion for athletics and coaching. He was the Defensive Coordinator of the Super Bowl winning Georgetown High School, Varsity Football team in the year 2000. He also coaches the varsity Softball team at Ipswich High School. He truly enjoyed mentoring young adults through athletics and was always a favorite among the athletes.
A loving and caring family man, Tom was the number one supporter of his children and grandchildren. He could often be found on the sidelines cheering on his beloved ones in any and all of their lives milestones. He was the former chairman of the Town of Wenham Council on Aging and was an avid Boston Sports fan. His diehard love of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots and Notre Dame Football was well known and he very rarely missed a game. yet above all else family was paramount in his life and he will be deeply missed.
Tom is survived by his longtime loving companion Linda Camire of South Hamilton, his daughters, Sheila Hever of Smithfield, R.I., Mary Jardine and her husband Glen of Wheelock, Vt., Barbara "Bobbie" Densmore and her husband Brendan of Wells, Maine, and Kelley Hever of Sutton, Vt., his seven grandchildren, Jaden, Leah, Adrianna, Daegan, Mariah, Irie and Quinn, his sister, Rosaleen A. Hever of Naples, FL and several cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (At Salem Common) Salem, Saturday, Feb. 17th at 9 A.M. followed by his funeral Mass in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Hamilton at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
