SALEM - Thomas Huntington Gale Jr., 75, died unexpectedly on January 5th from cardiac arrest.
Born to Dorothy Gale (Johnson) and Thomas Gale Sr, Tom was raised with his younger siblings, Barbara, John and Gary. He served in the U. S. Marine corps, and upon his return from Vietnam, graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in Aerospace Engineering.
Tom married Donna Gale (Foehr) in 1971 had two sons, Jason and David, and worked for General Electric. In the mid-1990's, he began a life of full-time philanthropy by becoming a mediator and engaging in a multitude of peace-oriented organizations.
Tom is survived by his son, David, his son, Jason and partner, Katy Cassidy, his former wife, Donna, his dear friend, Devon Hildreth, his sister, Barbara (Sister Elizabeth), his brother John Sr.; nephews, John Jr. and Nathan, and niece, Casey.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Northshore Unitarian Universalist Church, 323 Locust St., Danvers, MA on Saturday, January 20th at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The House of Peace or to Veterans for Peace.
