Thomas Enright

July 17, 1957 - September 27, 2018

Beverly, MA - Thomas G. Enright, age 61, died at home on Thursday, September 27, with his wife Alix Woznick by his side, after a year-long battle with cancer. He shared 27 years of marriage with Alix, and was a loving father to Meredith, age 19. He was the son of Marie (Connolly) Enright, and Gerard J. Enright. Thomas was born in San Francisco, and raised in Marin County, California.

Thomas graduated from Terra Linda High School and from San Francisco State University. He lived in the Bay Area until relocating to the East Cost in 1996, living in Salem, Brooklyn, and settling in Beverly in 2001.

A lifelong music fan, Thomas worked in the music industry for many years, at the Music Stock Market and Rainbow Records in San Francisco, then in sales and marketing at Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab in Sonoma County, California. He moved to Salem in 1996 to work for the independent label Rykodisc, where he made many of the closest friends of his career. Company ownership changes led him to New York City for two years at Ryko/Palm and then back to the North Shore with Ryko again, followed by five years commuting to New York to work at EMI Label Services/Caroline Distribution. In recent years he had pursued training to make a career transition to healthcare, working most recently at Beverly Hospital.

Thomas was an avid sports fan. He swam and played water polo competitively in high school and college. He and his father Gerard shared a love of the San Francisco Giants baseball team and Willie Mays, and he loved going to Red Sox games with his daughter Meredith, including a memorable Father’s Day game against the Giants. Thomas and his family loved to travel all over the United States and the world, to Australia and Turkey, Iceland and Puerto Rico. His favorite destination was Paris. Thomas was passionate about all forms of art; he was an avid reader, loved film, and enjoyed going to museums. Most of all, he shared his love of music with his wife, Alix, and his daughter Meredith, and had recently started Supermegabot Music Concern with his close friend Jeff Rougvie.

In addition to his wife and daughter, Thomas is survived by two sisters, Marguerite Enright Rogers and Elizabeth Enright, both of California; as well as his parents-in-law Carolyn and Ben Woznick of Cambridge, Mass.
A memorial/celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Music & Youth Initiative at www.musicandyouth.org or 398 Columbus Avenue, PMB 307, Boston, MA 02116. Condolences may be directed to Goodrich Funeral Home at 128 Washington St., Lynn, MA 01902.

I am so incredibly saddened by the loss of my friend and former colleague Thomas. My deepest condolences to Alix, Meredith and family. I worked with Thomas at Ryko/Ryko Distribution in Salem and NYC for 10 years. My lasting memory of Thomas will be his kindness, intellect and most of all his incredible sense of humor. We had many a running joke that lasted years - the jokes somehow grew funnier with time! The last time I saw Thomas in person was at the NARM convention in San Diego in 2010. We had a two-hour lunch and talked about our kids, our work, reminisced about our time at Ryko and had a lot of laughs, as usual. I am so grateful for these memories. He was the best.

So incredibly sorry to hear of Tom's passing. Heartfelt blessings to his family. He was always so joyful and happy. His mother and mine used to spy on us at the tennis courts on Miller Creek Road to make sure we were being appropriate...which we were. I will always remember him with a kind heart and wonderful smile. Rest peacefully Tom.

Thomas and I were colleagues at Rykodisc in Salem, and our families became close when we moved to NYC as part of the reconfigured RykoPalm, and by coincidence/luck became neighbours when we moved to fantastic Brooklyn. Many a fun day was spent in the kid's park in Carroll Gardens where our kids ran amok while we soaked up the rays (on some days in parkas) and the output of the kids' Super Soakers and laughed about the absurdity of the music industry.

My deepest condolences to Alix and Meredith and i'!ll always laugh when I think of some of the more ludicrous moments Thomas and I shared on the Ryko/MGM joint venture project.

Happy trails amigo xo

Dear Thomas, you not only helped me with my career but also as a husband and father. You left this earth way too soon but you also left a lasting imprint on my life. I hope you were able to read my card and know the true impact you had on me and my family. I will always cherish the time we spent to together. Love you
