Theresa J.'s Story
Theresa J. (Verrette) Burton, 89, of Salem, passed away Tuesday evening, February 28, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the wife of the late Herbert E. Burton, Sr.
Born in Salem, Mass., Theresa was the daughter of the late Emile and Aldea (Fafard) Verrette. Theresa attended Salem schools and worked for years with the former Irving's Taxi as a dispatcher.
Theresa is survived by her children, Raymond Burton and his wife, Betty of Troutville, Va., and Catherine Burton of Merrimac, Mass., and her partner, Fred Piecewicz; her grandchildren, Wesley Burton and his partner, Christina Miles, Raymond Burton and his wife, Miyuki Kobayashi, Jacqueline (Burton) Paysour and her husband, Dustin and Alan Pinciaro and his partner, Stephanie Sargent; her brothers and sisters, Jean Paul Verrette, Raymond Verrette and his wife, Sarah, Mary Jane (Verrette) Gagnon, Noella (Verrette) Melanson, and Yvonne Verrette; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Herbert, Theresa was predeceased by a sister and eight brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St., Salem, MA on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in Ste.
