Susan Marie (Kehoe)'s Story
Mrs. Susan Marie (Kehoe) Szczechowicz, 56, of Salem, beloved wife of Steven J. Szczechowicz, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of Joan (Krevatis) Kehoe and the late George J. Kehoe. Raised and educated in Salem, she was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1980.
A lifelong resident of the City of Salem, Susan found great comfort in providing a warm and loving home for her family. She was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren and shared a uniquely special relationship with everyone she met. Susan enjoyed crocheting and could be found creating afghans that she enjoyed sharing with others. She made each holiday special by opening her home to her family and friends carrying on traditions passed down to her. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
In addition to her husband, Steven with whom she shared 34 years of marriage, and her mother, Joan Kehoe of Salem, Susan is survived by her daughters, Stacey Harvey and her husband, Joshua, Samantha Szczechowicz and Shawna Szczechowicz, all of Salem; her son, Steven J. Szczechowicz, Jr. and his wife, Jessica of Peabody; her grandchildren, Lucas Harvey and Elijah Szczechowicz; her sister, Laurie Gomes and her husband, Carlos of Salem; her brothers, Michael Kehoe and his wife, Shannon of Salem and John Kehoe and his wife, Carla of Granite Bay, Calif. She was predeceased by her father, George Kehoe, and her sister, Lee Ann Kehoe.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours which will be held in The O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common), Salem, on Wednesday, November 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at the Moose Lodge, 50 Grove St., Salem, on Thursday, November 2, from 5 to 9 p.m. All are welcome to come share memories and celebrate a wonderful woman.
