Beverly, MA - Steven John Willey, 53, of Beverly, Mass., passed to Spirit on March 26, after being diagnosed with late-stage pancreatic cancer in October of last year. Steve is the son of Phyllis (Lauranzano) Willey and the late John H. Willey of Beverly. In addition to his loving mother Steve leaves behind two amazing daughters, Jade Kranz and her husband Nick of Beverly, and Sarah Willey also of Beverly. He will be greatly missed by his brothers David Willey and his wife Nancy of Laconia, N.H., John Willey and his partner Jan White of Peabody, and his beloved sister Patty Brooks and her husband Wayne of Bohemia, New York. Steve has several nieces and nephews that he enjoyed the company of and who he was always extremely proud of and their children pushed that pride beyond explanation. He spent time camping and skiing and picking on each one of them in his own unique and loving way. He passed on his love for Pearl Jam to them and adopted a love for Chris Stapleton from them. They are, Matthew Willey and his wife Natalia and their two daughters of Shaftsbury, Vermont, Eric Perron and his wife Inna of Eagle River, Alaska, Brittany Cochran and her husband McKenzie of Graniteville, South Carolina, Chelsea Perron of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Patrick Willey and his wife Julie and their daughter of Brooklyn, New York, and Erin Willey and her two sons, of Beverly, Leanne Ivory and her husband Marc along with their three sons, of North Plainfield, New Jersey, Jay Brooks and his wife Hilary and their son of Holbrook, New York.
Steve is predeceased by his dad and several special aunts and uncles including his godmother Joanna Lauranzano.
Steve was born on May 4, 1965, in Beverly. He graduated St. John's Prep in 1983. He was married to Laura Weston Dominick in 1990, and although they divorced in 2015 he always considered her and her husband Mocha to be family and even better friends. He served in the U.S. Air Force, worked as a locksmith at Hayden Safe and Lock, and eventually became an engineer at Comcast over 20 years ago, where he found his true gifts in understanding technology. Steve was a true Patriots fan and watched every game with his lifelong friend Chris Whitmarsh of Rowley, Mass. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to music, riding his motorcycle, visiting his friends in Turks and Caicos, and spoiling his dog, Jack.
Steve had a great sense of humor, which he maintained through his final days. He will be remembered for his quick jokes, his refreshing honesty, and his love for his family.
All are welcome to attend Steve's funeral at noon on Friday, May 3, at St. John the Evangelist at 111 New Balch Street in Beverly with a reception following the services at Danversport Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers Steve asked that donations be made to Potcake Place, the foundation that saves the dogs on Providenciales TCI that he loves so much. I worked with Steve for many years setting up security accounts. He had a great sense of humor and always had something nice to say when I had a bad day. I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing. May he suffer no more and be at peace. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

My deepest sympathies to the family. My childhood memories with Steve always brings me a smile and giggle. So many fun times in the neighborhood. And he never changed even as an adult. Great sense of humor, sweet and always there when you need him. God took one of the good ones and you will be so very missed. Rest In Peace Stevie

My deepest sympathies to the family. Although I haven't seen Steven in many years. The memories I have of him or from our childhood playing flag football in the yard, baseball, and Manhunt with other kids from the neighborhood. One particular time I remember was during Manhunt and Stephen was running through a neighbor's Garden towards is the safe place which was his yard to avoid capture and he was going so fast he he had tripped over a fence that boarded the garden caught air and landed in the safe place. What a way to win the game. We all had a great chuckle. Rest in peace Stephen

My sympathies to Steve's family. I remember him as a young boy, when I visited my aunt and cousins the Whitmarsh's. I later worked with Steve at Hayden's. He always had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. Rest in Peace Steven, God Bless.

I loved our talks. Up to the last haircut I gave you. We both believed in so many things that we shared and discussed. Boy you had an opinion. Your smile was contagious. We talked before your journey. You know my world is always open for a visit. I'm heart broken you left us early but what a great man to pave the way. I love ya. I'm proud to call you my friend and thankyou for being a part of my life. Peace and Hugs
