FORT MYERS, FL - Stephanie Ruth Bovio, 67, formerly of Georgetown, passed away on January 30, 2018, after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of David J. Bovio, with whom she shared over 45 years of marriage.
Born in New London, Conn., Stephanie was the daughter of the late Captain Stephen and Ruth (Murray) Carkeek. Stephanie is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Bovio, of Georgetown, and Kathryn, and her husband, Jason Pelletier, of Miramar, Fla.; a sister, Lesley Miner, of Elizabeth City, N.C.; and a brother, Bruce Carkeek, of Portsmouth, Va. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Max, of Georgetown, and Preston, Madelyn, and Olivia, of Miramar, Fla. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Stephanie was a graduate of New London High School, and Chamberlain Jr. College, and worked for Lahey Health for over 25 years.
Local relatives and friends gathered on February 3 to celebrate Stephanie's life in Fort Myers. A celebration of Stephanie's life will be planned for summer, 2018, in Georgetown.
