Stella Ann (nee Stokey)'s Story
Stella Ann Creed (nee Stokey), 83, of Bradenton, Fla., and Beverly, Mass., passed away Friday, August 4, 2017, surrounded by her daughters and doting caregivers.
Stella had a wry sense of humor and enjoyed being a homemaker and mother to her five children. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and playing games, and doing projects with her children and grandchildren. She also worked in the family catering business for many years with hiring and linens.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Helen Stokey; her brother, John Jr.; and sister, Dorothy of Herkimer, N.Y.; also by her husband of 58 years, David Packer Creed who passed away in November. Stella is survived by daughters, Elizabeth Moore of Bradenton and Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass., Barbara Hallwood and husband, Paul, of Lyme, Conn., Deborah Creed of Woburn, Mass.; sons, David Creed, Jr. and Daryl Creed, both of Beverly, Mass.; brother, Robert Stokey and sister-in-law, Barbara; sisters-in-law, Joan Appleton of Acton, Mass. and Rosemary Bertelsen of Longboat Key, Fla. Stella is also survived by nine grandchildren, William, Nicholas, Peter, Grace, Meredith Moore, Sarah, Alexander, Philip Hallwood and Matthew Fallon.
