IPSWICH - Stefan Kawa, 83, husband of the late Anastasia (Kryca) Kawa, died Monday February 5, 2018 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a short illness.
Born in Cudzynowicach, Poland on March 23, 1934 he was the son of the late Szczepan and Stefania (Piatek) Kawa.
Mr. Kawa was a longtime resident of Ipswich. He was retired from Gloucester Engineering. He loved gardening and he loved his chicken wings from Zeno's. Mostly he truly loved spending time with his great-granddaughter. Mr. Kawa was very involved with the raising of his three granddaughters. He was predeceased by his wife Anastasia on April 9, 2016.
Mr. Kawa is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Bozena T. and Ed McFayden of Ipswich. He is also survived by his three granddaughters, Stefanie McFayden and her fiance, Nick Colby of Byfield, Melyssa McFayden and her fiancé Spencer Thomas of Ipswich, Shannon McFayden of Jupiter, Fla. and his great-granddaughter, Harper Ann Thomas of Ipswich.
A private funeral service will be held at a later date. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Mr. Kawa's name to Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
