Stanley S.'s Story
Stanley S. Kozlowski, 95, passed away Monday morning, May 15 at his home in Brooksby Village, Peabody. Stanley was the husband of the late Beatrice (Jalbert) Kozlowski.
Born in Salem, Mass., Stanley was the son of the late Felix and Agnes (Drabowicz) Kozlowski. Stanley graduated from Salem High School before joining the U.S. Navy, serving his country honorably during World War Two. Returning home, he met his wife, Beatrice and started his family. He furthered his education with the aid of the G.I. Bill and attended Burdett College in the evening while working as a cost accountant at Hume Pipe in Saugus, Mass. He transferred to Northeastern University and obtained his degree in business and accounting. Later, he secured a position with Polaroid Corporation where he was employed as a cost accountant until his retirement. Stanley enjoyed photography, gardening, and playing cards with his friends. He and his wife, Beatrice enjoyed traveling with friends, especially to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Stanley will be most remembered for telling everyone about his escapades as a child and about his experiences in the Navy. He was a gentle man who dearly loved his wife and family. He will be missed.
Surviving him are his son, Robert Kozlowski and his wife, Bette of Hernando, Fla; his daughter, Susan Paquette and her husband, Gerard of Hobe Sound, Fla; his three grandchildren, Christine Oskar-Poisson and her husband, James of Amherst, N.H., Allison Oskar of Burlington, Vt., and Kenneth Kozlowski of Scarborough, Maine; and his great-grandchildren, Michael and Annalise Poisson of Amherst, N.H. Stanley was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Beatrice (Jalbert) Kozlowski; his brother, Bronislaus Kozlowski; and his sisters, Jean Jachowicz, Stacia Smith, and Blanche Skoniecki.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St., Salem, MA on Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m., where a memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
