Sheila M. (Murphy)'s Story
Sheila M. Cram of Natick, beloved sister, mother, “Auntie,” and friend, passed away November 23, 2017, at Kaplan House in Danvers after a brief illness, she was surrounded by love.
Sheila was born in Beverly on February 6, 1938. She graduated from Beverly High School and continued on to receive a nursing degree and a Master’s in Nursing from Boston University.
She retired from Newtown-Wesley Hospital after a storied career marked by dedication to improving infectious disease control. She loved the Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and to ski and golf–activities she picked up later in life. More recently she loved to play bridge. She followed politics and was active in her community and supportive of Natick Service Council and The Center for Arts in Natick.
Sheila is survived by her sister, Christina Russo Simpson and her husband, Gary, of Beverly; her son, David Cram of Beverly; and her nieces and nephew and their children: Tony Russo and his wife, Terrie, of Beverly; Julie DeSilva of Beverly, Gina Russo of Gloucester; and Diana Adams and her husband, Erik. She was the beloved great-auntie of Joey and Talia Russo, Sarah, Jenny, and Dylan DeSilva; and Jack and Gracie Adams.
Sheila is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia “Ginny” Murphy of Beverly.
Sheila’s funeral service will be held at Pike- Newhall Funeral Home at 61 Middle St. in Gloucester, on Tuesday, November 28th, at 12 noon, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow the Service in Central Cemetery in North Beverly.
