BEVERLY - Ruth Ann (Newman) Pelletier, age 95 years, wife of the late Rudolph Pelletier, died Thursday morning, January 4, 2018 at the Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Dora (Moynihan) Newman. She attended St. James School and Salem Public Schools.
Mrs. Pelletier was employed with the Salem Courts, working for them for over 25 years, until her retirement in January of 1985. She was a very active communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Salem where she volunteered for many activities at the church. She enjoyed helping with the holiday bazaar every year and playing Bingo. Most especially, Mrs. Pelletier's family always came first.
Surviving her is her daughter, Linda Barbeau and her husband, Richard of Salem, her daughter-in-law, Donna Pelletier of Indiana, her grandchildren, James, Kimberly, Ryan and Nicholas, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sons, James and David Pelletier, her grandson, Eric Barbeau and her brothers and sisters, Bertha Haggerty, Evelyn Tufts, Mary Ruest, Nellie Lewalski, Lester Newman and Richard Newman.
Mrs. Pelletier's Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd, Salem, on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the Mass at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, corner of North St, Salem from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
