BEVERLY - Ruth (McEachern) Morgan, 89, of Beverly, died peacefully recently at Masconomet Health Center in Topsfield following a period of ill health. Ruth was the wife of the late Claude "Skip" Morgan of Beverly. She was a former employee of City Hall in Beverly, having worked for the State Retirement Board for many years until her own retirement. She took great pride in helping her city employee "pensioners". Prior to working at City Hall, she was employed at Cressey Dockham in Salem and as a young woman, the Ideal Baby Shoe factory in Danvers.
Having lived most of her life in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Helen and Richard McEachern, also of Beverly.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Morgan) McNeill of Beverly, two grandsons, Patrick McNeill and his wife Melissa (Camara) of Beverly; Brendan McNeill of Boston, her sister, Linda George and her husband James, of Beverly, her sister-in-law, Mary McEachern of East Hampstead, N.H, along with several nieces and nephews, especially her "Teddy Bear", Jeffrey George and his wife Lisa of Essex. Also survived by a stepson, Bud Morgan and granddaughter Julie Morgan David of Tennessee. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, George McEachern and her nephew, David George.
So many people were instrumental in Ruth's care these last few years, and her family would particularly like to acknowledge all the staff at Sunrise Senior Living in Peabody, Masconomet Health Care Center in Topsfield, and last, but not least, Care Dimensions of Danvers. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
At the request of the family, funeral and burial services will be private. Arrangements by Campbell's Funeral Home, Beverly.
