Rose C. (Biondini)'s Story
Rose Nuccio passed away peacefully Monday, August 14, 2017; she was 95 years old. She was married to the late Pietro ‘Pete’ Nuccio for 65 years. She is survived by her sister, Inez Biondini; her two sons, Dr. Eugene J. Nuccio (and wife, Linda (Beaulieu)) and Peter J. Nuccio (and wife, Terry (Rufo)). Rose has three grandsons, (Gregory, Anthony, and Christopher Nuccio); two granddaughters, (Lisa (Nuccio) Mitchell and Suzanne (Nuccio) Allen; three great-grandsons, (Joseph and Michael Nuccio, Caleb Allen); and six great-granddaughters, (Aubrie and Abby Nuccio, Gabriella and Soliel Mitchell, Freya and Gianna Allen).
Born in Beverly, she was the youngest daughter of Eugenio and Caterina Biondini and sister to the late Laura Biondini. Rose was well-known for her high level of involvement in and service to the Beverly and Saint Mary’s Church communities. Rose was very active with the Senior Center in Beverly since its inception. Rose worked as the ‘banker’ for the weekly Wednesday night Beano fundraising/social activities for nearly two decades. She was also extremely involved in the quilting and knitting groups at the Beverly Senior Center. For more than 50 years, she was a constant presence with the Crusader and Cardinal Drum and Bugle Corp. Rose was involved in the 4H organization during her youth and the Daughters of Isabella as an adult. She loved dancing and going to the beach. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe and cruising the Panama Canal and the west coast of the United States. During her working career, she was the office manager of the Salem branch of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Rose received commendations and accolades for her high standards of accuracy and knowledge.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly, on Saturday, August 19, at 12:30 p.m. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in her name to the Cardinal Alumni Association, 801 Hale Street, Beverly, MA 01915.
