Roger's Story

Roger H. Witham, 68, died suddenly on Thursday, January 4, 2018 with his wife by his side and on the phone with his beloved daughter.
Born in Danvers on Sept. 9, 1949, he was the son of the late Everett and Norma (Thomas) Witham. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a 1967 graduate of Danvers High School.
Roger was employed by the Town of Danvers, first in the Water Department and then as a lineman for the Electric Department, until his retirement in 2003.
He was a proud member of Mean & Clean and was a friend of Bill W. for thirty years.
He was a lifelong Danvers resident who was beloved and well-respected in the community. His love for his wife and daughter had no boundaries.
He leaves his loving wife, Mary Beth (Dacey) Witham of Danvers, his daughter, Cori Witham of California, his brother Thomas Witham and his late wife Mary of Sandwich, his niece, Heather, his nephew, David, two grandnephews, his in-laws, Arlene and Thomas Dacey of Beverly, and many dear friends.
His Funeral Service will be Thursday, January 11, at 10 a.m., in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
