Robert S.'s Story
Robert S. Smith, age 93 years, of North Andover, formerly of Topsfield, passed away Saturday morning, May 6, 2017 at the Brightview in North Andover.
He was the beloved husband of the late Stella (Wyzga) Smith. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, he was the dear son of the late Kenneth and Gladys (Armstrong) Smith. He was a graduate of North York High School and attended the University of Toronto.
Robert was an honorably discharged veteran during World War II as a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Mr. Smith had been employed for many years as a Retail Store Manager. During his career, he was employed by Cherry & Web, Casual Corner, Empire and Kaps.
He is survived by his son, Robert Smith and his wife Margi of Topsfield; two grandchildren, Sarah Smith Holloman and her husband, Bradley of Orlando, Fla. and Julianne Smith Barbati and her husband, Michael of Salem. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Andrew Smith and his wife Marie of Arizona and George Smith and his wife Dilly of Kelowna, B.C. and one sister, Eleanor Alport and her husband Erik of Toronto, Canada.
Robert’s Funeral Service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. A visiting hour will be held prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the Compassus Hospice, 790 Turnpike Street, #302, North Andover, MA 01845.
