Robert L.'s Story
Robert "Bob" Dean, 82, of Danvers, died at the Kaplan House on August 9, 2017, after a sudden illness.
He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine (Gannon) Dean; children, Thom Dean, Richard McHugh, John McHugh, Karen McHugh and Janet Holik. He also leaves several grandchildren and nieces.
Bob was born in Swampscott, Mass., attended Tilton Academy in New Hampshire, and graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont before serving in the US Army and being discharged as a Captain. Bob was an avid sportsman and his favorite sports were football, hockey, baseball. He loved to golf and garden. Bob worked in the asphalt industry and retired as a regional sales consultant.
Mr. Dean was a member of the Masons Guild.
His wake will be held at the Mackey Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St., Route 114, Middleton, on Sunday, August 13, from 3 until 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's name to the Kaplan House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
