Robert (Bobby)'s Story
Robert J. Armstrong, 72, passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday.
Born in Salem on August 12, 1945 he was the son of the late Henry and Dorothy (Gaouette) Armstrong. Bobby was raised and educated in Peabody, and was a lifelong resident of the Peabody area. He was predeceased by a son, Sean and his five siblings, Janice Armstrong, John (Sonny) Armstrong, Beverly Penick, Dolly Taeger and Carol Avellino all formerly of Peabody.
Bobby worked at Tan-Rite Leather Company of Peabody where he met his former spouse, Diane Wojick. He then went on to found his own successful painting business. Bobby enjoyed Boating, fishing, hunting and biking and was known for his artistic abilities and his affinity for all things nautical. His charm and keen sense of humor would give all that met him something to smile about to help lighten their day.
He is survived by a daughter, Sherry Adams and two grandchildren, Amber and Paige Adams of Queen Creek Arizona, and many nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by family, friends and his beloved cat Chiquita.
Arrangements: His funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the St. John the Baptist Church, 17 Chestnut St., Peabody, MA 01960, followed by a celebration of life at VFW Post 1011, 20 Stevens St. Peabody MA 01960. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
