Mr. Richard "Dick" Bochynski, 68, beloved husband of Diane M. (Eaton) Bochynski, died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Salem he was the son of Louis Bochynski Sr. of Beverly and the late Angela (Grasso) Bochynski. He was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School, Class of 1968.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Navy.
Following his service to his country, he continued his education at North Shore Community College and was a graduate of Salem State College earning his Degree, Magna Cum Laude.
Dick had been employed in the retail industry for many years. He was a manager of the former Rich's Department Stores and prior, had also been associated with BJ's Wholesale Club, Lechmere and Jordan Marsh. With an entrepreneurial spirit, he left retail in 1998 and founded Bochynski Web Page Design (BWPD), a website design and hosting business. The business expanded to also provided technical support services for personal computers and local small businesses. He owned and operated his company until the time of his illness.
Dick was a loving and devoted family man. He loved to spend his time working around the home and yard. A Mr. Fix it by nature and profession, Dick's inquisitive mind propelled him to find how things worked and he was always more than willing to help fix anything for a friend or family member in need. He also found enjoyment in fishing, playing the accordion and had a passion for antique garden tractors.
Family was always at the center of Dick's life. He spent every evening with his best friends, his father, and his wife. He was supportive and encouraging of his wife, children, parents and siblings. He was a true mentor to his boys and throughout life taught them many useful (some not so useful!) things. He always was quick with a joke and smile and was ultimately proud of his wife and children. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his practical jokes and his love and dedication to his family. He will be missed.
Dick is survived by his loving wife, Diane (Eaton) Bochynski of Beverly, his children, Richard Bochynski Jr and his companion Kimberly Talbot of Beverly, Matthew J.
