Raymond J. Ruest St Petersburg, FL - Raymond J. Ruest, 84, husband of Lynette (Silva) Ruest, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 3, 2018. He was the son of the late Jéan B. and Gladys Marie (Weldon) Ruest. He was born and raised in Danvers graduating from Danvers High in 1952. He became a member of the Army National Guard while working at a local dry cleaners. He later established Raymond's Custom Dry Cleaning in Manchester By-the-Sea. After semi-retirement he relocated to Yarmouth Port, Mass. where he owned and operated Crown Cleaners. He later retired to St Petersburg, Fla. He loved nature, the sea, hiking, camping and especially canoeing. He was a passionate cook and gardener. He loved music, especially Jazz, and enjoyed playing the harmonica. He is survived by 2 daughters, Audrey Allen of Beverly and Ashley Gordon (and husband, Garrett) of Revere, 3 sons, Paul of New York, Stephen of Ipswich, and André of Danvers, 5 grandchildren, Nelson Allen, Kyle, Tyler, Adrienne and Bryce Ruest, his sister, Joan Cassidy of Bartlett N.H. along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Arthur Cassidy.
Friends and family are invited to visit at the home of André Ruest, 40 N Putnam Street, Danvers MA on Saturday, November 10 from 3 to 7 p.m. Service and Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, 3981 Main St E, Brewster, MA 01631

So sorry for your loss. I remember my Dad (Jimmy Weldon) taking us to visit him and he was always happy to see us. My condolences to your family.

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Ray. He was such a happy go lucky guy all the time and as him being my godfather I will never forget him. May he Rest In Peace.
