BEVERLY - Raymond J. Parshley, 74, of Beverly, passed away at home on Friday, February 16, 2018 surrounded by family, following a two year battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Allen) Parshley.
Born on March 30, 1943 in Salem, son of the late Mary Ellen (Higgins) Parshley.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp from 1961-1965 during the Vietnam War. He earned the rank of Corporal while in the service.
Raymond was employed by Sylvania in Salem before being a grounds keeper at the Kernwood Country Club in Salem for 35 years.
Mr. Parshley was a resident of Beverly for 46 years and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed his yearly spring trips to Lake Winnipesaukee to fish for salmon. Raymond and Beverly recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November.
Surviving him in addition to his loving wife, are his two son, Gary Parshley and his wife Tanya of Chelmsford and Brian Parshley and his wife Jennifer of Galway, Ireland; three grandchildren, Brandon, Marissa and Amelia Parshley and several nieces and nephews. He was adored by his sister-in-law, Muriel McParland and brother-in-law Don Allen. He was predeceased by his son, Michael Parshley who passed away in 2006.
ARRANGEMENTS: His visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2 to 5 p.m. A military honor presentation will begin at 5 p.m. and conclude the visitation period.
