Peter's Story

BEVERLY- Peter Clemenzi, 93, passed away on Friday, February 23, at Beverly Hospital after a brief illness.
Peter was born and raised in Beverly, the son of John and Concetta (Serra) Clemenzi.
He graduated from Beverly High School. While working at the A&P in Beverly, his new friend Michael Nardella introduced Peter to his lovely sister Rose Marie Nardella. After spending three-and-a-half years in the Army, mostly stationed in Germany, Peter was honorably discharged in June of 1952, and married Rose a month later on July 6.
Peter and Rose purchased their home at 593 Cabot Street on April 11, 1958. It was here that Peter would establish his hair salon where he worked until retirement. Located behind the North Beverly Fire Station, Peter befriended many of the fire fighters, who shared his vegetable garden, and many a meal. His home was always filled with family and friends and lots of food. Throughout his life, he loved to travel and enjoyed long walks.
He is survived by his five sons, Peter J. Clemenzi, John A. Clemenzi and his wife Kathy, Robert M. Clemenzi and his wife Joyce, Gary S. Clemenzi and Barbara, Donald C. Clemenzi and his wife Gayle; his ten grandchildren, Brendan Clemenzi and his wife Karen, Margaret Clemenzi, Keira Clemenzi, John David Clemenzi and his wife Liz, Candice Dawes and her husband Chris, Cristofer and Nicolas Clemenzi, Marissa, Kendra and Jenna Clemenzi; and seven great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife Rose and six siblings, Sophie Villanti, Emma Villanti, Mary DiGrandi, Dominick Clemenzi, John Battista Clemenzi, and Angelo Clemenzi.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 3, 2018, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Beverly at 10 a. m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in the in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beverly. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Friday, March 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island, 1 Bulfinch Place, 2nd Fl., Boston, MA 02114.
