Mr. Paul Daffe, 53, of Salem, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Salem Hospital.
Born in Salem, he was the son of Marie (Carr) Daffe and the late Joseph R. “Bob” Daffe. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1982.
Mr. Daffe had been employed with Gardner Mattress of Salem for over 22 years as a driver.
A longtime well-known resident of the City of Salem, Paul enjoyed spending his time fishing, golfing, and playing darts and cribbage. He had a deep passion for sports, especially baseball and enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams. He was a member of the Lafayette Club of Salem, the Knights of Columbus, Veragua Council 76 of Salem, and the V.F.W. Witch City Post 1524 of Salem.
Paul’s most memorable times were spent hanging out with friends and family. He would always greet you with a smile on his face and a wave. He loved his children, family and friends deeply. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Jillian R. Daffe of Peabody; his mother, Marie (Carr) Daffe of Salem; his sisters, Ann Zard and her husband, Stephen, and Janice Harbaugh; his brothers, Daniel Daffe and his wife, Teddi-Jean and Richard Daffe; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Diane Nelson. He was predeceased by his beloved son and best friend, Wayne P. Daffe on July 10, 2017. They are forever together in heaven.
His funeral service will be held in the O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common), Salem, Tuesday, August 29, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours prior to the service from 9:30 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Paul’s memory to the Family Resource Center, Mass General for Children at NSMC, 4th floor, 57 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970, for the Learn to Cope (for families learning how to support their child’s recovery); or GRASP (grief after substance passing) programs.
